i also took firework pictures yesterday evening, but they didn't turn out near this nice. (it was my first time photographing fireworks, i have a lot to learn) did you use a tripod? i forgot mine xD (silly me).

It just takes a lot of experimenting with the settings. I didn't take my tripod. I turned the ISO number to the max (on my cam is 1600), that way I could have a decent shutter speed. I also just sat and used my knees for some support :S

that's nifty. i only had my ISO to 800, i thought it would be enough, though 1600 or maybe even 3200 would have been better. but you're right, experimenting is always a great way to learn (at least with photography), and luckily in a few weeks our neighbors (at our lakehouse where the celebrations occurred) are going to do fireworks again so i'll have another chance :D

very nice job! Sadly I didnt get to see in this year, we just hung by the pool all day... :( I have loved fireworks sence I was a kid.
